PaceMaker plug-in for Winamp

PaceMaker Control Window Usage

  • Adjust the Tempo, Pitch & Speed settings by moving the sliders with mouse or using the -/+ buttons at right-hand side of the sliders. Tempo & Speed sliders are in percents scale (%) and the Pitch slider uses half-step or semi-tone scale ("St", i.e. 1/12th of an octave).

  • "Memorize above settings for each song" : When this button  is active (green), PaceMaker remembers the Tempo/Pitch/Speed settings for each song and uses the same settings again when the same song is played for the next time. Notice that this feature does not work with MediaMonkey player, hence it's disabled if the plug-in used with MediaMonkey.

  • "Enable processing" : This button temporarily disables the Tempo/Pitch/Speed adjustments so that the sound is played as it is originally.

  • "Remove vocals" : Turns on vocal removing that suppresses singing voice. Desired Voice Removal algorithm mode can be selected in configuration window as well as with Alt + B/D/K/L keyboard shortcuts as described below. See also a note regarding voice removal in Configuration section.

  • The "Reset" button resets the Tempo/Pitch/Speed controls to the default settings (all sliders to zero positions)

  • The tool icon-button opens the PaceMaker configuration window.

  • The "?"-button displays this help file.

  • Double-clicking the title bar shrinks the PaceMaker window into shade mode so that only the title bar is visible.

Adjustment ranges

The adjustment ranges for each control are bydefault

  •  -50% .. +100% for Tempo & Speed sliders

  • 12.0 .. +12.0 half-steps (semitones) for Pitch slider

In registered version of PaceMaker the adjustment ranges can be configured by the user to either achieve a better control accuracy with narrower range, or a wider adjustment range of up to +400% of tempo/speed or +24 halfsteps for pitch. See Slider configuration on the Configuration section.

Keyboard shortcuts in PaceMaker window

Besides using mouse to move the sliders, they can be adjusted also with the mouse wheel or keyboard: just activate the desired slider first by clicking it with a mouse button or use the 'Tab' key on the keyboard to switch between the sliders. The currently active slider is indicated with a lighter color.

  • Rolling the Mouse wheel adjusts the active slider in small steps.

  • The arrow keys on the keyboard adjust the active slider in small steps.

  • The Page Up/Down keys adjust the active slider in larger steps.

  • The Home key resets the active slider to zero position.

  • The Slider Adjustment Precisions and Steps Sizes for the sliders and arrow/page keys can be configured by user in the registered version of PaceMaker, see slider configuration on the Configuration section.
